Credit is an important source for all start up, and also for expansion projects. The practice of cautions lending is still continuing as misfortune for the SSI entrepreneurs who are not much of land holdings to offer as collateral securities. Protective mode is prevailing. Under the revived capitalist economic system taking risk is the basic economic function of banks. Bankers perceives small loans are more risky, hence collateral security gives more comfort to protect a Banker from NPA accountability.
On 30th August , 2000 Shri.Vajpai, Hon'ble Prime Minister launched the Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme. Under the scheme the claims are settled by Government of India and SIDBI.
